First, we get a history of your struggle with anxiety. When did it start? Were there initial triggers? How have you managed it so far? Then we get specific about what you are experiencing so we can begin to make a difference as quickly as possible. 

2. What Therapeutic Techniques Do You Use in Treating Anxiety?

Anxiety tends to cause racing thoughts, worst-case-scenario thinking, and exaggerated worry as well as physical symptoms like muscle tightness and gastrointestinal problems. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been found to be highly effective in changing negative thought patterns and reducing physical symptoms.  Mindfulness practices are also effective in managing anxiety. 

3. Do I Need to Take Medication?

That will depend on you. How much are you suffering, how sensitive are you to medications, and how concerned are you about taking something new? Would you prefer to try managing without medication first? We can discuss the potential benefits and risks regarding medication so that you can be fully informed in making a decision. I do not prescribe medication but can help you find someone who does.
